Ralph Kimball
  Ralph Kimball is known worldwide for his practical and innovative work in dimensional data warehousing as developed in his Data Warehouse Toolkit series of books, the all time best sellers in the field. He teaches dimensional design for Kimball University , writes for Intelligent Enterprise magazine, and critiques data warehouse designs. He founded Red Brick Systems in 1986 and was CEO until 1992 when he founded Ralph Kimball Associates. Red Brick Systems, now owned by IBM, is known for its lightning fast relational database optimized for data warehousing. From 1982 to 1986, Ralph was vice president of applications at Metaphor Computer Systems, the first data warehouse vendor. From 1972 to 1982 he was a research scientist and development manager at Xerox PARC where he was a co-inventor of the Xerox Star Workstation, the first commercial product to use a mouse, icons and windows. Ralph has a PhD. from Stanford in electrical engineering (man-machine systems).
Bill Inmon
  Recognized as the "father of the data warehouse" and co-creator of the "corporate information factory," Bill Inmon has 35 years of experience in database technology management and data warehouse design. Known globally for his seminars on developing data warehouses and an as author Bill has written more than 650 articles and published 45 books on such topics as building, usage, and maintenance of the data warehouse and the corporate information factory.
